DOGGETT – Ivan C., 87, of Bridgewater, formerly of White Point, Queens County, passed away peacefully in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater on Wednesday, August 19, 2015.
Born in White Point, he was a son of the late Austin and Jean (Coffin) Doggett.
Ivan worked for Markland Shipping Company for a time before becoming owner/operator of his own trucking company. He was the first garbage collector for South Queens. He was owner of Oceanview Mobile Home Sales and Park in White Point. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and some prospecting as well as square dancing with his wife, Florence. He also sold Rawleigh products throughout Queens County.
He is survived by his wife Florence (Clattenburg); daughter Bonnie (Kleanthis) Economou of Bridgewater; his son Brian (Jo-Ann Anthony) of Falmouth; grandchildren Matthew, Nathan, Corinne, Melanie and Karsten; great grandchildren Hailey, Jordan, Mia and Hunter.
He was predeceased by an infant granddaughter Beth Doggett and a sister Shirley Clattenburg.
There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be Monday, August 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Reverend Karen Ohrt officiating. Burial will be in White Point Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Wesley United Church, Hunt’s Point or to a charity of your choice.
