Florence Marie Dexter

DEXTER – Florence M.,  79, of Milton, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on Friday, December 11, 2015.

Born in Riverport, she was a daughter of the late Laurence and Blanche (Himmelman) Mossman.

Florence was a former employee with the Riverport Post office and Ritcey’s General Store. She worked as a bank teller for a number of years at the Halifax branch of the Bank of Montreal. She will be fondly remembered as an excellent cook and homemaker who kept her home and her three beautiful children “immaculate”. She taught her family good morals and was known to be creative and enjoyed decorating, especially outside, with wild flowers.

She is survived by her husband Warren of Harbourview Haven, Lunenburg; her daughter Patricia (Gus) Vromans of Brooklyn; her sons John (Dawn) of Brooklyn and Terry (Jennifer) of Harvard, MA. Grandchildren TJ, Colten, Andrew and Amanda. Her sister Elinor Fitzgerald of Riverport and her brother Roy of Amherst, NS.

Funeral service will be Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Father Keith Billard officiating. A private family interment will be at a later time in Milton Community Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or to a charity of your choice.
