Dexter - Delphine A., 93, of Ridgewood Assisted Living, Bridgewater, formerly of Brooklyn, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born on Big Tancook Island, Delphine was a daughter of the late Harry and Vera (Cross) Hill.

Delphine worked for the Bank of Montreal, Liverpool and retired as Administration Manager. She was a former President of the Liverpool Ladies Golf Club and a member of the Atlantic Senior Ladies Golf Association (ASLGA). Delphine was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Association and volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society of Nova Scotia and active in the Brooklyn Baptist Church. Delphine travelled extensively with family and friends to Myrtle Beach and Florida for golf and family time, Australia and New Zealand, Caribbean, Oberammergau (Passion Play), Mediterranean, England and many parts of Canada. She will be fondly and lovingly remembered as a classy lady who always looked “well put together”. She loved her family unconditionally, was our steadfast rock and enjoyed playing bridge, crib and tolerated our other family games!

Delphine is survived by her daughter Rosalee Smith and her daughter in law Pat Dexter both of Milton. Grandchildren Matthew Dexter (Caileigh Hull), Graham Dexter (Brit Firth), Great grandchildren Chloe Dexter, Piper and Fox Dexter. Step grandchildren Scott, Mike and Tammy and their families as well many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Delphine was predeceased by her husband Atwood “Put”; her son Stephen; her brothers Douglas and Keith in infancy and her son in law Murray Smith.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. Funeral service will be held Friday, March 14, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Chandlers' Chapel, Pastor Noah Lohnes officiating. Reception to follow. Interment at a later date. No flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer Society or the Brooklyn Baptist Church. Online condolences may be made below.
