David Charles Daniels (1959-2021) passed away peacefully at Queens General Hospital in Liverpool surrounded by family on Friday, November 5th, 2021.
David is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Joanne (Wentzell), his son Jared (Victoria), and his sisters Donna Arenburg (Ricky), Annette LeBlanc (Roland) and Angela Daniels-Drummond (Lindsay).
He is predeceased by his parents William and Marion, and brother Darren (Barb).
David was born on March 4th, 1959 in Bridgewater and grew up in North River. Most of his working career was with Bowater Mersey Paper Company and then with the Municipalities of Lunenburg and Chester. David was a pillar in his community, volunteering and mentoring with the Queens Minor Hockey Association, Liverpool Baseball Club, Liverpool Curling Club, Kiwanis Key Club, and other community organizations. His passions were playing hockey as a goaltender in his early years, woodworking, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He greatly enjoyed driving his Camaro and in later years taking it to the Memorial Auto Show in Liverpool where he enjoyed chatting with other antique car owners. David was a big fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs who he often coached from his Lazy Boy chair! Despite his health challenges over the past years, David remained positive with everything that crossed his path.
Known for his quick humour and dry wit, he was always quick to make someone laugh, especially in moments when it was needed most. He believed in working hard but stressed the importance of taking time to laugh, especially with loved ones. David went above and beyond to help others. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
No flowers by request, however, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home. A private family service will be held later. A recording of David’s service will be available online. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com.
Our family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Queens General Hospital who cared for David with passion and dignity.
