CONWAY – Blanche Isabel, 90, of Caledonia, Queens County, passed away peacefully in North Queens Nursing Home, Caledonia on Monday, March 6, 2017.
Born in New Grafton, Queens County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Iris (Weagle) Mahoney.
Blanche was the heart of her family and the source of unconditional love and support. Her and Frank’s home and their big kitchen was always filled with family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and loved to provide to all who visited. She was well known for her fabulous homemade cinnamon rolls and bread and would cut it hot from the oven for any who asked. She absolutely loved babies and could not wait to cuddle and rock them. If there was a baby in the house they would always be found in Blanche’s arms. She loved playing cards and really enjoyed playing a game that challenged her. Losing was not an option. She was also an avid reader. She looked forward to listening to music and was always happy when the kitchen party was at her place. The most popular entertainers were her uncles Roland and Leander Weare.
She is survived by her daughters Margaret (Peter) Waterman of Caledonia, Geraldine (Raymond) Crouse of West Caledonia, Sandra (Bern) Power of Caledonia, Barbara (Richard) Frail of Harmony, Merna (Jerry) Muzzerall of Maple, ON, Glenda of Harmony. Her sons Roger (Linda) of Newmarket, ON., John of West Caledonia, Donald (Anna) of West Caledonia, Gerald (Kathy Bungay) of Bridgewater and Michael (Marie) of West Caledonia. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of sixty years, Frank, her daughter and son in law Frances and Ira Forrest; her grandsons Victor Ryan, Cody Selig and Jeff Conway, her infant great great granddaughter Serenity Forrest, her sisters Merna Romans and infant sister Ethel, her brothers Victor, Hubert, Jack, Keith, Donald and infant brother Clyde.
