Belva Hazel Brown

BROWN – Belva H.,  68, of Mersey Point, Queens County passed away suddenly at home on Friday, May 28th, 2010.

             Born in Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late Roger and Hazel (Layboldt) Boland.

             Belva was a Rural Service Mail Carrier for Canada Post for 32 years. She loved doing crossword puzzles, flowers, Elvis and was an avid fan of “Days of Our Lives”.

She is survived by her husband Riley; daughters: Shelley Roy of Mersey Point, Doreen Brown of Brooklyn. A son Matthew (Julie Oickle) of Liverpool. A sister Jean Uhlman of Upper Chelsea and brothers Linkard (Betty) of Mersey Point and Harley (Mary) of Caledonia as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister Ruth Walsh and brother Grover.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 1st, 2010 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 8:00 p.m. both in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Burial will be at a later date. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Queens County Branch of the S.P.C.A.
