Bowers – Murray Paul, age 86, of South West Port Mouton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 10th, 2021, at home.
Born in South West Port Mouton, Murray was a son of the late Peter and Effie (Roy) Bowers.
Murray had many jobs over the years, working for Mosher and Rawding Construction Company, C.W. MacLeod Fisheries as an engineer/truck driver/supervisor, fishing on many different vessels, before owning and operating his own long liner boat and eventually becoming a sea captain with the Canadian Coast Guard. Murray enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and was well known for his expertise in making moonshine. He also enjoyed having a good old sip of whiskey every night before going to bed. He was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. Murray had a great sense of humor and a warm loving heart.
He is survived by sons, Randy (Wanda) of South West Port Mouton, Paul (Lana) of Eagle Head, Barry (Lois) of South West Port Mouton, Troy (Tiffany) of Liverpool; grandchildren, Adam, Josh, Alyson, Bradley, Christopher, Jessica, Nolan, Eden, Oliver and Owen; great grandchildren, Teale, Annaley, Charlotte, Haley, Lucas and Olivia; sister, Louise (Clarance) Williams, of Carter’s Beach.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Jeannie; sister, Vivian Dollivar; brothers, Douglas and Ronald.
A Funeral Service for Murray will be held on Sunday, August 15th, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., in South West Port Mouton Community Cemetery. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. To share memories or condolences, please visit www.chandlersfuneral.com
