Ernestine Elva Boutilier

Boutilier, Ernestine Elva (Kempton), 101, of Albany New, Queens County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9th, 2015 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown, NS. just five weeks shy of her 102nd birthday.

Born October 19,1913,  in Albany New, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Emma (Daley) Kempton.

Ernestine lived her whole life in Albany New, but loved to travel. She visited every province in Canada, several States, and also a pen pal in England. Her door was always open. She was a member of The Women’s Institute, Pearle Chapter # 71, Order of the Eastern Star and Kempt United Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and especially loved poetry. She was known as an excellent cook and made thousands of loaves of bread in her lifetime. She was a good mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and loved her family dearly. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by daughters, Barbara Weagle of Wilmot; Leora (William) Cavanaugh of Wileville; sons Granville of Albany New; Vincent (Nancy) of Ottawa, Ontario. 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Foster sister Gertrude Godfrey of Paradise.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Burrell; brother Purney and sister in law Frances.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. followed by an Eastern Star Memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be immediately following the Eastern Star Service all being held in Kempt United Baptist Church. Reverend John Boddy officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Kempt. Family flowers only, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
