Evelyn Viola Borden

Borden – Evelyn Viola, age 100, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 1st, 2018, in Queens Manor, Liverpool.

Born in Lunenburg, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas “Rector” and Jennie (Lohnes) Mason.

Evelyn was employed for many years with Simpsons in the shoe department in both Toronto and Halifax. Music and singing was her passion and she was a part of many community and church choirs in Halifax, Toronto and the South Shore over her lifetime. Evelyn enjoyed traveling in her younger years.

She is survived by a daughter, Gail (Clyde) Westhaver, of London, Ontario; son David (Wanda) Winaut, of Liverpool; grandchildren, Tom, Kelly, Mark, Kathy, Jan, Lori, Raelene and Marita; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brothers, Cecil, of Lunenburg and Leslie (Barbara), of First South.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Winaut; second husband, Walter Borden; daughter, Rochelle Pittman; sister, Marilyn Spencer; brothers, Gordon and Jimmy.
