Carole Wilma Sampson
Born in Liverpool December 20th 1934 to Donald and Ester (Thorbourne) MacDonald, Carole attended school there until entering the Grace Maternity School of Nursing and graduating in 1955. She returned to Liverpool and spent her nursing career first at Queens General Hospital and then in the office of Dr. Gary Morash until her retirement.
After her retirement Carole along with her husband Sam were active volunteers at Trinity Anglican Church in Liverpool and spent many hours volunteering for the Canadian Cancer Society where they were a fixture for many years at the Curl for Cancer and other events.
All who knew Carole were aware of the special bond she had with her grandchildren Jonathan, Jillian, Morgan, Ben and Kenzie and the delight with her great-grandchildren Lilah, Leo, Keaton, Calla Sue and Maeva.
Besides her husband of sixty-seven years Leo “Sam” Sampson Carole is also survived by her sister Donna (Gordon) Dumphy, her children Gordon (Suanne), David (Linda), Cathy (Roy) Tingley and Tony (Janice) as well as her five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Carole was predeceased by her sister Louise (Francis “Kit”) Wells, and her brother Gordon (Joan) MacDonald.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 19, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. from Trinity Anglican Church, Liverpool. Reverend Cherry Workman officiating. Reception to follow service. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or any charity of your choice. The family wants to express their heartfelt appreciation to the group of friends in Liverpool that helped so much to make it possible for Mom and Dad to remain in their home as long as they did; your friendship and help meant the world to them.
We also want to thank the staff of Drummond Hall in Parkland- Clayton Park for the consideration and care you gave our mother. You were like family to her and again we can’t adequately express our appreciation for that.
